Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Aloo operates the Aloo mobile application and related services on project-controlled domains (including *.aloo.live). Privacy and support requests: support@aloo.live.

2. Data we collect

Current end-user sign-in is guest authentication (device/installation bound). We do not currently collect end-user phone, email, or OAuth credentials for sign-in.

Age gate	birth date (18+ only)
Profile	display name, avatar, gender, country/city/region
Optional location	approximate lat/lng when nearby matching is used; not shared as exact coordinates to peers
Device meta	platform, app version, model, OS version
Messages	message bodies and metadata for delivery and reconnect
Safety	reports, blocks, related context references
Optional media	realtime audio/video via LiveKit/TURN when enabled
Optional diagnostics	Sentry crashes when a DSN is configured (default PII off)

3. How we use data

To operate matching and chat, enforce age/safety rules, run optional nearby matching, secure sessions, improve reliability, and comply with law / legal holds. We do not sell personal data.

4. Sharing

Processors may include hosting (API, Postgres, Redis), LiveKit/TURN for media, optional Sentry, and TLS edge services. Authorized admins may access limited private content only through gated, audited paths (report, investigation, legal hold).

5. Retention & deletion

Soft-delete own message: hidden from normal reads; body cleared where implemented.
Delete account: soft-delete with session revoke and profile anonymization per server logic; rows may be retained.
Legal holds may preserve conversation content beyond ordinary deletion eligibility.
Automated message purge/hard-delete is not claimed as an authorized live guarantee for this beta unless separately approved.

6. Children

Aloo is for users 18+. Under-18 use is refused at the age gate.

7. Your choices

Profile/privacy settings, block/report, soft-delete messages, account soft-delete, and declining nearby location by not using that mode.
